Preparation NoteDescription- This PT sample is packaged as a 1.5 mL concentrate.
- The solvent for this sample is methanol. The PT sample is not preserved.
- The sample must be stored at 4 °C.
Sample Preparation- Fill a 100 mL Class A Volumetric Flask with 90 mL of organic-free reagent water.
- Allow the ampule concentrate to equilibrate to room temperature.
- Open the ampule and pipet exactly 20 µL of the concentrate into the flask.
- Fill to volume and mix well. This represents the sample for analysis.
- Report results in µg/L.

Sample Preparation- To prepare solution, add 1 L of reagent water to a 2 L separatory funnel.
- Open ampule PE1274-1.2ML (be careful to avoid cuts on glass) and transfer exactly 1.0 mL of the concentrate to the separatory funnel.
- Mix well.
- The sample is now ready for analysis.
- For calculations, assume initial sample volume was 1000 mL.

- The pack-size on this sample has recently changed from 2 mL to 1.2 mL. This change does not affect the performance of the proficiency test.
Sample Preparation- To prepare the solution, fill a 100 mL volumetric flask to volume with carbon-filtered reagent-grade water at room temperature.
- Open ampule PE1312-1.2ML (be careful to avoid cuts on glass) and immediately withdraw 20 µL.
- Quickly inject the 20 µL aliquot into the reagent water in the expanded area of the volumetric flask.
- Mix the sample by inverting the flask three times only (excessive shaking results in loss of volatiles) and analyze immediately.

Sample preparation- To prepare the solution, partially fill a 1000-mL volumetric flask with ammonia-free, reagent-grade water (near 20 °C).
- Open ampule PE1593-2ML (be careful to avoid cuts on glass) and transfer 1.0 mL of concentrate to the volumetric flask.
- Fill the volumetric flask to volume with reagent-grade water and mix well.
- The sample is now ready for immediate analysis.
- If a solution is not to be analyzed within two days after preparation, preserve a sample aliquot with 0.2 mL of concentrated sulfuric acid per 100 mL of sample (pH<2) and store at 4 °C until just before analysis.
- Analyze the preserved sample as soon as possible within the maximum 28-day holding time.

Preparation NoteDescription- The PT sample is packaged as a 20 mL concentrate.

Sample Preparation- To prepare the solution, partially fill a 1000 mL volumetric flask with reagent-grade water (near 20 °C).
- Open ampule PEA1901-20ML (be careful to avoid cuts on glass) and transfer 10.0 mL of the concentrate into the volumetric flask.
- Fill to volume (1000 mL) with reagent-grade water and mix well.
- The sample is now ready for immediate analysis.

- All constituents are present in soluble form.
- The solvent for this sample is water.
- The PT sample has been autoclaved for preservation.
Sample Preparation- This ampule contains a concentrate for the preparation of a solution that can be analyzed for MBAS.
- Partially fill a 1000 mL volumetric flask with reagent-grade water (near 20 °C).
- Open ampule PE1337-20ML (be careful to avoid cuts on glass) and transfer 10.0 mL of concentrate to the volumetric flask.
- Fill the volumetric flask to volume with reagent-grade water and mix well.
- Sealed ampules were autoclaved to preserve the solutions inside.
- This preservation treatment is not effective after the ampule is opened. Therefore, the sample should be analyzed as soon as possible after sample preparation following the preservation and holding times as specified in the method.
- All analytes should be reported in mg/L.

Preparation NoteSample Preparation- This ampule contains a concentrate for preparation of a solution that can be analyzed for bromide, chloride, fluoride, nitrate nitrogen, nitrite nitrogen, sulfate and orthophosphate phosphorus in water.
- To prepare solution, partially fill a 1000 mL volumetric flask with reagent-grade water (near 20 °C).
- Open ampule PE1060-20ML (be careful to avoid cuts on glass) and transfer 10.0 mL of the concentrate into the volumetric flask.
- Fill to volume (1000 mL) with reagent-grade water and mix well.
- The sample is now ready for immediate analysis.

Preparation NoteDescription- This PT sample is packaged as a 20 mL concentrate.
- The solvent for this sample is water.
- The PT sample has been autoclaved for preservation.
- The sample must be stored at 4 °C.
Sample preparation- All constituents are present in soluble form.
- Partially fill a 500 mL volumetric flask with reagent-grade water (near 20 C).
- Open ampule PE1364-20ML (be careful to avoid cuts on glass) and transfer 10.0 mL of concentrate to the volumetric flask.
- Fill the flask to volume with reagent-grade water and mix well.
- The sample is now ready for immediate analysis.
- Sealed ampules were autoclaved to preserve the solutions inside.
- This preservation treatment is not effective after the ampule is opened. Therefore, the sample should be analyzed as soon as possible after sample preparation following the preservation and holding times as specified in the method.

Preparation NoteDescription- This PT sample is packaged as a 1.5 mL concentrate.
- The solvent for this sample is acetone.
- The PT sample is not preserved.
Sample Preparation- This ampule contains a concentrate of Base/Neutral compounds in acetone.
- When prepared according to instructions, the concentration of each analyte will be less than 200 µg/L.
- To prepare solution, add 1 L of reagent water to a 2-L separatory funnel.
- Open ampule PE1171-2ML (be careful to avoid cuts on glass) and transfer exactly 1.0 mL of the concentrate to the separatory funnel.
- Mix well.
- The sample is now ready for analysis.
- For calculations, assume initial sample volume was 1000 mL.
Matrix Modifier- MMW - 001 is intended to modify the products to simulate a wastewater sample.
- The final dilution will replace the use of DI (Reagent Grade) water for the preparation of the appropriate CRM/QC sample.
- The sample will add turbidity and TSS to the final volume.
- These do not affect the properties of the analytes of interest in the final sample if prepared according to instructions.
Note: Filtration may be necessary as required by your method.- To use the matrix modifier simply mix Wastewater Matrix Modifier as specified in the MMW-001 instructions. Use this solution in place of the reagent grade water in the instructions above.

Preparation NoteDescription- This sample consists of 10 g of soil containing base/neutrals and acids in soil.
- Four samples have been provided for your convenience (multiple methods, multiple analysts, etc.).
- The soil has been chemically stabilized with 1 mL of acetone to minimize degradation of the sample.
- The evaluation of the results will be based on study statistics as required by TNI.
- The standard may not contain all the compounds listed on the Report Form in accordance with TNI standards.
- For analytes not detected, report as zero “0” or a “<” and your detection limit or “<” PTRL.
Sample Preparation- Extract the complete contents of a single vial. Transfer entire contents of one vial to extraction vessel. Rinse vial and cap with extraction solvent.
- Note: Sample extracts and calibration solutions should be in the same solvent.
- Analyze the Extract using the appropriate Semi-Volatile Organics method for which you are seeking accreditation.
- Determine the concentration of the analytes listed and report your results on the organic analysis data sheet provided.
- The method used must be reported.
- Report all results on a wet weight basis, do not correct for moisture.
- Assume a 10 g sample size for all calculations.

- The sample is now ready for immediate analysis.

Preparation NoteDescription- The effluent is provided as a concentrate for dilution in 20% diluted mineral water (20% DMW).
- This concentrate is an EPA-specified toxicant in reagent-grade DI water.
- Enough material has been provided to run the method at least twice. If you require more toxicant, please contact ptservice@milliporesigma.com. An ampule is provided for making fresh effluents for each day of the test.
- Do not deviate from the supplied instructions or EPA Method 1002.0. Contact ptservice@milliporesigma.com before running the test if you see the need to deviate from the test conditions. Deviations may affect your final evaluation.
Preparation Instructions- To prepare 1 L of effluent, add 900 mL of 20% DMW to a volumetric flask. Preparation instructions for 20% DMW can be found in the EPA document EPA-821-R-02-013, page 26.
- Transfer the entire contents of one ampule to the flask. Rinse the ampule with 20% DWM and transfer to volumetric flask. Bring flask to 1 L volume with 20% DWM.
- This represents 1 L of effluent water for the test.
Required Test Condition- Test Type: Static renewal
- Test duration: 7 days
- Temperature: 25 C ±1 C. The test must not deviate by more than 3 C during the test.
- Renewal of Test solutions: Daily
- Dilution water: 20% diluted mineral water.

NACRES: NA.24 General descriptionThis Whole Effluent Toxicity (WET) proficiency testing sample is produced in accordance with ISO/IEC 17043:2010. This product is produced according to TNI requirements. However, please note, this sample may include non-TNI analytes as well.
In the Chronic WET tests, invertebrate Ceriodaphnia dubia is employed as a test organism to measure its ability to grow, develop and reproduce when exposed to wastewater effluent. This method of determination is used to estimate the effluents toxicity levels in aquatic/freshwater environments.

- This represents 1 L of effluent water for the test.,The effluent prepared according to these instructions represents the sample ready for testing, 100% effluent. This 100 % effluent is split into two 0.5 L aliquots. The first aliquot is your 100% effluent for testing. The second aliquot is diluted with 0.5 L MHSF and mixed. This becomes your 50% effluent sample. Continue diluting half of each sample with the same volume of MHSF to make your 25 %, 12.5 % and 6.25 % effluent dilutions, which represent the five test dilutions.
Required Test Condition- Test Type: Static renewal

- Photoperiod: 16 h light, 8 h darkness (recommended)
- Test chamber size: 30 mL (recommended minimum)
- Test solution volume: 15 mL (recommended minimum)
- Age of test organisms: Less than 24 h; and all released within an 8-h period (required).
